Our library is a member of the Connecticut State University Library System that entitles our library patrons to borrow materials available at Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Western Connecticut State University libraries.
You can request materials from any of these libraries by using the "REQUEST BOOK" function in CONSULS to order your books. You can also go directly to these libraries and use your Southern ID to check out material. The "Request Book" icon will ask you for your student ID and for your library PIN. If you don't have a PIN go to: http://www.library.southernct.edu/offcampus.html for information on establishing a PIN.
Materials listed for the Connecticut State Library in Hartford (StLib) can’t be requested through the intralibrary loan system. You can go to the State Library to check out any items that say "Available." You can also use our Interlibrary Loans online form to request materials. Many of the library’s reference and special collections must be used in the library and will say "library use only."
Interlibrary Loan forms ARE NOT to be filled out for the purpose of requesting books through the CSU Library System. The Interlibrary Loan Department will not process any material that is held by any of the libraries in the CSU system. These forms will be sent back to you and may delay your research and access to needed sources.
Journal articles CAN NOT be directly requested through CONSULS. Instead, please fill out the journal request form available at the Circulation desk or online at: http://www.library.southernct.edu/illjournalform.html
