Alumni Library Cards
Library
cards are available to current members of the Alumni Association. Contact the
Alumni Affairs Office, Wintergreen
Building, Room 144, at (203)
392-6500. You also can go to their
Web site at http://www.southernct.edu/alumni
for membership information.
Bring the alumni card, along with a photo I.D., to the Buley Library, Circulation
Desk, and fill out an application form. Your library card is good for one
academic semester but can be renewed for additional semesters. By signing the
application form, the user agrees to abide by all library rules and policies assigned.
Basic
Information about Special Loan Cards:
- The library card is valid for one
semester but can be renewed as long as all books have been returned and no
library fines have accrued

Books Maximum can be checked out from Buley Library's collection
- This card does not
entitle you to library privileges at other CSU libraries
- Learning Resource
Center and Curriculum Lab material does not circulate
- Books circulate for 28 Days, with a
14-day renewal
- Interlibrary loans from Consuls(Central,
Eastern, Western) and other libraries are
not available to alumni
- Access to electronic databases
from off-campus is not available
CCALD Library Borrowing Agreement
Buley
Library is a participating member of CCALD, an academic library resource
sharing program for Connecticut libraries. This card gives SCSU faculty and staff borrowing privileges to the
collections of member libraries. Faculty and staff can obtain a card by filling
out a brief form at the Circulation Desk. Buley Library will also honor CCALD
requests from staff and faculty from other participating libraries. This
library agreement is only for one time. For additional information, please
contact the Access Services Department at (203) 392-5768 or stop in and pick up
a CCALD brochure.
Special Borrower Cards
A limited
number of special borrowers library cards are available from the Circulation
Department. Library patrons must be 18 years or older in order to borrow
material from Buley Library. Library cards from other universities or public
libraries can not be used to check out material from Buley Library. Please fill
out the application form and show a photo I.D at the Circulation Desk. Requests
for library privileges will be considered and will be approved at the library's
discretion. All library patrons agree to abide by all the rules assigned to a
guest borrower.
