Faculty,
students, and staff currently enrolled or employed in the Connecticut State
University System may borrow library materials from any of the CSU libraries.
All library patrons must present a current, valid University identification or
special loan card when checking out material and agree to abide by all
applicable policies.

Library Circulation Policies
Undergraduate and Graduate Students
SCSU
undergraduates and graduate students are responsible for all books checked out,
as well as any fines accrued. You can check out a maximum of 25 books from the
CSU Library System (Central, Eastern, Southern, Western and the Connecticut
State Library). Requests for books from any other CSU libraries are done through
the Consuls catalog and sent to Buley by campus courier. You also can check out
library material by going directly to the library. The Connecticut State
Library is not a participant in the campus loan system. You can fill out an
Interlibrary Loan form and we will request the material from the State Library.
You can also visit the Connecticut State Library in
SCSU
books circulate for 28 days, with the option to renew twice. Library books are
subject to recall after two weeks and must be returned. The due date for the
requested book will change to a two-week status. Students can not transfer
their ID cards or borrow books for other individuals. Please report all lost or
stolen cards immediately, or you may be held responsible for any library
materials borrowed.

Interlibrary loan material is kept can at the Circulation Desk for pick
up.

Many libraries will permit renewals of ILL material, but all renewal
requests must be submitted to Interlibrary Loan.

Library patrons agree to follow all ILL policies and will be held
responsible for all fines or lost items.

Interlibrary loan photocopies for journal articles can
be kept by the library patron.
Non-Circulating Material
The
following materials do not normally circulate:
Photocopiers
are available on the first and second floors of the library. Copies cost
15 cents per page using your Hoot Loot card, or 20 cents per page with coins.
Some of the first floor photocopiers will make change of $1.00 or $5.00
bills. The Circulation Desk does not make change.
Return
of Library Material
Library material can be returned to the circulation desk or the book drops located
both inside and outside Buley Library. The inside book drop is located on the
left wall in the lobby, just before entering the library. When the library is
closed, library users can return material to the book bin located on the
outside porch of the library. Material borrowed from any of the CSU libraries
may also be returned to Buley Library and will be returned by courier
service.
