Curriculum Collection

 

The Curriculum Collection located on the third floor of the library is a specialized section of Buley Library that offers resources to support the PreK-12 curriculum. 

Printed Resources

Children's and Young Adult Literature (Labeled as Juvenile) - This collection includes non-fiction, fiction, folk and fairy tales that are selected for pre-school through grade twelve.  The collection consists of, among other things, the award books of Caldecott, Newbery and Coretta Scott King.

Textbooks   

A limited number of textbooks in major subjects and grade levels are collected.  Several publishers are represented in an attempt to reflect the public schools in New Haven area. For a list of these textbooks, click here or check out what are available in the CSU Curriculum Centers here.  

Children's Magazines

A number of the current children's magazines are collected here for browsing.

Curriculum Kits

Shelved at the far end of the third floor are games and tools that can be checked out.

Connecticut and National Curriculum Guides - Connecticut and National Curriculum Guides, preschool through grade twelve, on all major curriculum areas.

Connecticut and National Standards - Connecticut and National Curriculum Standards on all major curriculum areas.

CSU Curriculum Materials Centers http://library.wcsu.edu/csu/curriculum/ Curriculum materials can be shared among CSU Curriculum Materials Centers. Refer to individual center websites for information on hours and services.

Connecticut Schools Profiles http://nces.ed.gov/programs/stateprofiles/ Connecticut Schools Profiles are collected annually when published by the Connecticut State Department of Education.
